It didn’t take long for the UFC to sign talented Ariane Carnelossi.
Listed as one of the 10 best Brazilian prospects to keep an eye on in 2019, “Sorriso” will replace Ashlee Evans-Smith versus Taila Santos in a flyweight contest at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Montevideo, Uruguay, on Aug. 10.
Both fighters verbally agreed to meet in Uruguay but contracts have yet to be signed, sources told MMA Fighting. Dama de Ferro first reported the news. It’s still unclear why Evans-Smith withdrew from the bout.
Carnelossi (12-1) recently scored a third-round knockout over Ketlen Souza at Future MMA 5 in Brazil.
