UFC Newark just wrapped up with the promotion’s #2 ranked welterweight Colby Covington dominating former champ Robbie Lawler for five rounds and in all facets of the game.
Covington closed the distance early and did his best to keep it there. He would make Lawler work to get up just to get taken right back down. The second round looked a lot similar. The only difference was that Covington actually broke away and landed some low-powered volume on the feet. Lawler pressed forward at the end of the round but didn't really throw anything. The volume from Covington increased from the third frame on.
