When Court McGee is doing his thing, it might not make for the prettiest fight style, but it sure is effective.
McGee shook off a slow start in his UFC Moncton main card opener against Alex Garcia on Saturday night before taking control over the final two rounds. And that was enough to get the TUF 11 champion back in the winner’s circle, as he took the welterweight bout via unanimous decision, earning a pair of 29-28s and a 30-28 at Avenir Center in New Brunswick.
Garcia, a native of the Dominican Republic who is now based at Montreal’s Tristar, had his best round in the first, as he used an effective jab to keep McGee at bay.
