Heavyweight prospect Adam Milstead was tossed around the cage throughout the opening round of his UFC Houston preliminary card bout vs. Curtis Blaydes. On one of the seven takedowns Blaydes completed in the first five minutes, Milstead was noticeably in pain as his right knee buckled. Milstead survived the round but was thoroughly dominated.
Coming out for round 2 proved to be disastrous for “The Prototype,” and his knee was wrecked on another Blaydes takedown. Milstead clutched his knee in pain as the fight was called to a halt. FS1 analyst Brian Stann had pointed out Milstead’s initial injury in round 1, and questioned Milstead’s corner for letting him even continue.
