Stipe Miocic's year appears to be over.
The UFC heavyweight champion's agent said the fighter is "highly unlikely" to fight again this year as he recovers from an eye injury suffered against Daniel Cormier at UFC 241, per Brett Okamoto of ESPN. Miocic won that fight inAugust by fourth-round knockout, but the fallout could keep him from competing until at least 2020.
"I'll be ready to fight when I can see out of both eyes again," Miocic told Okamoto. "I can't wait to defend my belt."
