UFC heavyweight Carlos Felipe has been given an 18-month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for a failed drug test following his fight with Andrei Arlovski at UFC Vegas 40 last October.
The NSAC announced on Tuesday that Felipe tested positive for an anabolic steroid and its metabolites, Boldenone. The Brazilian and his team reached an agreement with the commission that included a fine of $4,200 (15 percent of his purse) and $489 in prosecution fees. He must also be subjected to pre-fight drug testing 30 days, 15 days and 3 days ahead of his next appearance, should it be in Nevada.
