On April 23rd, New York's famous Madison Square Garden will play host to either UFC 198 or the return of middleweight boxing champion Gennady Golovkin, but it won't be both.
The biggest fight boxing could make right now, both from an entertainment and business standpoint, is almost certainly a middleweight title unification bout between WBC champion Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) and WBA and IBF champion Gennady Golovkin (34-1, 31 KOs). After Canelo's win over Miguel Cotto in November, the WBC granted both men voluntary defenses of their titles in lieu of Canelo immediately facing Golovkin, who is the WBC interim champ and mandatory challenger.
