UFC Fresno medical suspensions: Aljamain Sterling suspended indefinitely after scary KO

UFC bantamweight Aljamain Sterling was one of seven fighters to receive a lengthy medical suspension in the aftermath of UFC Fresno. The California State Athletic Commission released the event’s medical suspension report Thursday to MMA Fighting.

Sterling suffered a frightening first-round knockout loss to Marlon Moraes on the night’s main card. Sterling was rendered unconscious by a vicious knee-to-the-head that left him down on the canvas for several minutes. He was ultimately transported to a local hospital. As a result of damage sustained in the contest, Sterling will be required to seek neurologist clearance or be sidelined indefinitely, per CSAC officials.
