If the first fight between Marlon Moraes and Raphael Assuncao in 2017 was lacking action and considered too close to call definitively for either fighter, their rematch at UFC Fortaleza left no doubt whatsoever.
Moraes was able to drop Assuncao with a pair of right hands, and then on the ground he secured a mounted guillotine choke and was able to get Assuncao to tap out. That’s surely the type of performance that should get him the next crack at T.J. Dillashaw’s bantamweight title. Of course, Dillashaw could be fighting Henry Cejudo next, but at 135 lbs, so we’ll see what happens.
