If 2019 is to be Jose Aldo’s final year as an MMA fighter, he’s gotten off to a tremendous start.
The former WEC and UFC featherweight champion took on Renato Moicano in the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza. It was a slow-paced opening round with not a whole lot of offense from either man, but Aldo changed things in a hurry in the second round. Aldo hurt Moicano with a left hook, and he teed off on Moicano with a series of hooks to the head and body, knees, and overhand rights. Moicano was never knocked down but he was badly hurt, and the referee stopped it standing.
