UFC Fortaleza was filled with finishes Saturday night, but even some of the winners could face long medical suspensions after the event.
The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) released the full list of suspensions on Monday, and Charles Oliveira was given an 180-day term pending clearance from an ophthalmologist. “Do Bronx” was poked in the eye multiple times by David Teymur during the contest, won by Oliveira via second-round submission.
Teymur, as MMA Fighting reported on Sunday, could also sit out six months due to a broken orbital bone.
Victorious in his UFC debut, defeating Magomed Bibulatov via decision, Rogerio Bontorin also needs medical clearance (x-ray of right thumb) to avoid a six-month suspension.
