While his relationship with the UFC might be damaged at this point, Demetrious Johnson’s stellar track record in the cage continues to flourish, and he has picked up a big accolade as a result of his work. The UFC’s only flyweight champion ever was chosen over the likes of Conor McGregor, Andre Ward, and Gennady Golovkin to win the ESPY Award for Best Fighter.
The win was announced on ESPN’s show tonight.
Johnson (26-2-1, 14-1-1 UFC) has defended his flyweight title ten times in a row, and is looking to break Anderson Silva’s record with his eleventh consecutive title defense in his next fight.
