Jon Jones is back. Well, he hasn’t actually stepped into the Octagon yet - he does that against Alexander Gustafsson on December 29th - but he’s back in the rankings. And the panelists wasted no time in putting Jones right back basically where he was before.
The former 205-pound champion entered the light heavyweight rankings as the number-one contender, bumping Gustafsson out of that spot. And he’s already at number three in the pound-for-pound list, only behind Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
It’s not just about Jones though. The results of UFC 230 uprooted the middleweight rankings in the big way as well.
