Following a few non-PPV weeks where the UFC rankings were barely affected, UFC Vegas 11 came along. And it showed that (gasp!) a super deep and relevant card can (gasp!) cause some major changes in the rankings!
The biggest, and probably most controversial change, came due to the outcome of the UFC Vegas 11 main event. Colby Covington convincingly defeated former champion Tyron Woodley, which allowed him to take over the top contender spot at 170 - despite UFC president Dana White already making it clear that Gilbert Burns is the top contender and getting the next shot at Kamaru Usman.
