A shopworn Sam Stout was no match for Frankie Perez.
Perez wiped out the man they call “Hands of Stone” with a counter right hook and follow-up punches in the first round of their preliminary lightweight encounter at UFC Fight Night “Holloway vs. Oliveira” on Sunday at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The end came 54 seconds into round one. Perez (10-2, 1-1 UFC) then promptly announced his retirement.
Stout (20-12-1, 8-11 UFC) forced the issue, as the Canadian kickboxer backed up Perez with aggressive punches and kicks from the outset.
