The CES MMA veteran surprised Thiago Santos in their middleweight showdown, as he landed a takedown early and threatened with an armbar. From there he transitioned to his foe’s back, eventually securing the tapout 2:58 into the first period. Spicely was as much as an 8-to-1 underdog entering the bout.
Meanwhile, Erick Silva and Luan Chagas earned “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their preliminary welterweight showdown.
