Michael Johnson wants to get paid, and he fought like it against Dustin Poirier.
“The Menace” garnered a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his work in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night Hidalgo main event, as he knocked out Poirier with a counter right hook and follow-up punches 1:35 into the opening stanza of their lightweight encounter. The sudden finish brought a resounding end to Poirier’s four-fight winning streak at 155 pounds.
Elsewhere, Evan Dunham and Rick Glenn pocketed $50,000 apiece for “Fight of the Night” in their featured lightweight scrap.
