Aljamain Sterling was looking to make a statement in his UFC Fight Night 80 bout against Johnny Eduardo.
The UFC's No. 5-ranked bantamweight chose to fight out the last bout of his UFC contract and test the free agent waters and he did so in style on Thursday. The Serra-Longo fighter from Long Island improved to 12-0 with a second-round submission victory at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas at UFC Fight Night 80.
"I'm gonna call [Floyd] Mayweather out of retirement," said Sterling, who earned his third straight finish. "Bring that guy back so I can get the big-money checks.
