Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is giving Irish fight fans a fantastic lightweight main event for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 77 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, booked for Oct. 24, 2015 inside 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
Joseph Duffy vs. Dustin Poirier.
"Irish Joe" returns to his old stomping grounds after a successful run for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship (CWFC). That's where Duffy strangled reigning interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor back in 2010 and since then, is 7-1 with six finishes.
Including two straight under the UFC banner.
He's going to have a pretty stiff test in the form of Poirier, who made his transition back to the lightweight division following a high-profile loss to the aforementioned McGregor in late 2014.
