It had been fourteen months since fourth-ranked welterweight Carlos Condit had fought when he stepped inside the octagon at UFC Fight Night 67 in Goiânia, Brazil on Saturday, but you wouldn’t have known it by his performance.
“The Natural Born Killer” took out twelfth-ranked Thiago Alves by technical knockout due to doctor stoppage at the conclusion of the second round.
The opening round was a feeling out process. Condit used his reach advantage well to keep Alves on the outside while Alves looked to counter with power shots.
Condit adjusted his attack between rounds and stunned Alves with an elbow on the inside that sent the Brazilian crashing to the canvas with a shattered nose.
