Aljamain Sterling is looking at an indefinite medical suspension following his knockout loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC Fight Night 123 this past Saturday night.
The California State Athletic Commission recently released medical suspensions from the event, which took place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno. Sterling was knocked out by a Moraes knee 67 seconds into their featured bantamweight contest. “Funkmaster” requires neurologist clearance before he can compete again. At the minimum, Sterling is suspended 45 days with 30 days of no contact.
Moraes did not escape unscathed, however, as he requires doctor clearance on a possible fracture to his right hand in order to have a 180-day suspension lifted.
