UFC lightweight contender Michael Chiesa was one of six fighters to receive a potential 180-day medical suspension in the aftermath of UFC Fight Night 112, according to information released by the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission.
Chiesa suffered a first-round submission loss at the hands of fellow lightweight contender Kevin Lee in the night’s main event. He will now be required to sit out 180 days due to a potential left shoulder injury sustained during the bout or seek doctor’s clearance to return earlier.
Along with Chiesa, five other fighters received similar potential 180-day medical suspensions: Tim Boetsch (right foot and shin), Felice Herrig (left wrist), Vitor Miranda (right ankle), Devin Powell (left ankle), and Johnny Case (hand, foot/ankle, and nose).
