It took her a while to get warmed up, but Holly Holm’s patience paid off — literally.
The former bantamweight queen earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for her third-round knockout of Bethe Correia in the UFC Fight Night 111 headliner in Singapore on Saturday. After two slow-paced rounds, Correia taunted “The Preacher’s Daughter” and paid the price for it. Moments later, Holm floored her Brazilian foe with a beautifully-placed head kick and clinched the victory with a follow-up uppercut 1:09 into round three.
Elsewhere, Yuta Sasaki captured the card’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for his come-from-behind triumph over Justin Scoggins in a preliminary flyweight tilt.
