UFC featherweight Bharat Vijay Kandare will be sidelined for two years.
The 29-year-old Indian fighter has accepted a two-year suspension after violating the UFC’s Anti-Doping Policy in an out-of-competition drug test conducted on July 23, USADA officials announced Monday. Kandare tested positive for exogenous boldenone — an anabolic agent — and its metabolites in the failed test, as well as a metabolite of tamoxifen, which USADA classifies as a hormone and metabolic modulator. Kandares’s two-year suspension is retroactive to Nov. 2, the date of his initial provisional suspension.
Kandare (5-2) has competed only once in the UFC.
