Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Diego Brandao, 28, who rose to fame after capturing the glass trophy as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14, was released earlier today by the world's premiere mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.

The Brazilian was suspended from active competition after testing positive for marijuana metabolites at the UFC 195 pay-per-view (PPV) event back in January (more on that here).
