Newly-crowned UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was eager to defend his title as soon as he was able. In the days since his pummeling of Anthony Johnson, it seemed that “DC” might be doing against his new rival Ryan Bader. However, it was revealed today that won’t be the case.
UFC President Dana White said earlier tonight on FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight” that the MMA giant is “actually looking at possibly Alexander Gustafsson” which may sit aside the Cormier-Bader stalk just as it was growing legs.
White did not officially confirm the bout, but shortly after airing, the UFC did on their official website, stating that the two will meet with a date and venue to be announced.
