UFC champion Amanda Nunes joins Invicta FC in athlete development role

The UFC women’s bantamweight champion has joined Invicta FC as part of the all-women’s promotion’s athlete development team, Invicta announced Thursday.

Per a press release, Nunes, a former Invicta fighter, will be assisting in matchmaking and scouting talent in Brazil and the U.S. Southeast. Nunes, a Brazil native, lives and trains in Florida.

“I’ve known and worked with Amanda for a long time, going all the way back to our Strikeforce days,” Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp said. “She was already part of the Invicta family, but now it’s official; now it’s on paper.

“I can’t think of a better ambassador for the sport and our organization.
