UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones turned himself in to Albuquerque Police on Monday evening to face charges of allegedly being involved in a felony hit-and-run on Sunday. The Albuquerque Police Department confirmed the development to MMAWeekly.com.
Jones was initially being sought for questioning and was expected to be charged with a misdemeanor for Leaving the Scene of an Accident. The charge on Monday was elevated to a felony after it was revealed that the pregnant victim in the accident suffered a fractured arm and wrist.
The Albuquerque Police Department issued a felony arrest warrant for the light heavyweight champion on Monday, but offered for him to turn himself in.
