UFC champ Demetrious Johnson’s shoulder surgery a success

UFC flyweight champion and top-ranked pound-for-pound fighter Demetrious Johnson underwent successful shoulder surgery on Wednesday, according to MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani.

Johnson, who holds the record for the most title defenses in UFC history (11), had been having problems with his shoulder since December.

‘Mighty Mouse’ posted on Twitter that his surgery was a success but gave no timeline for his return to the Octagon.

Johnson, 31, hasn’t lost since he dropped a decision to Dominick Cruz in a bantamweight championship bout in 2011. The Washington-based talent reinvented himself at flyweight and has almost cleared out the division.
