Ariane Lipski got off to a fast start in her UFC Brooklyn ESPN prelim bout against Joanne Calderwood on Saturday night.
The Kings MMA product by way of Curitiba, Brazil, fired off a flurry of punches and kicks at the outset. But that was about it for her highlights in the fight, as Calderwood took control from there.
The popular Scot nicknamed “JoJo” announced she’s a presence in the flyweight division with an impressive unanimous decision, earning two 30-26s and a 30-27 from the judges at Barclays Center in New York.
Calderwood answered Lipski’s early flurry by taking her opponent to the mat and putting on an absolute clinic over the round’s duration.
