UFC lightweight Alexander Hernandez was one of two fighters to be issued extended 60-day medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC Brooklyn.
The New York State Athletic Commission released the event’s finalized medical suspension report to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
Hernandez suffered a lopsided second-round TKO loss at the hands of Donald Cerrone in the main event of the ESPN-televised prelims at UFC Brooklyn. As a result of damage sustained in the contest, Hernandez will be forced to sit out 60 days before returning to active competition, per commission officials.
The only other fighter who received a similar potential 60-day medical suspension was light heavyweight prospect Karl Roberson, who sustained a first-round submission loss to former title challenger Glover Teixeira on the night’s main card.
