A few hours after announcing “The Ultimate Fighter 26” would feature an all-female flyweight cast, with the tournament’s winner being crowned the UFC’s inaugural 125-pound champion, UFC president Dana White told Yahoo! Sports that the announcement was premature and that the UFC is merely considering adding its fourth women’s division.
Just to clarify, the announcement that was posted on the UFC’s official website, which provided specifics such as date, time and location for female flyweights to tryout for the reality show, was erroneous?
The article has since been deleted.
This is just the latest hiccup in a growing list of examples that the UFC is not what it used to be since it was purchased by a group led WME-IMG in July.
