UFC bantamweight Rani Yahya gets choked out in grappling final

Rani Yahya, who is one of the best pure grapplers to ever enter the UFC, competed at the Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, earlier this month, and went back home with the silver medal.

Competing at the lightweight division, Yahya took on Thiago Aragao de Abreu in the final, and was choked out with a guillotine in less than a minute.

Yahya (24-9, 1 no-contest) is a ADCC gold medalist, and only lost one of seven bouts since cutting down to bantamweight in 2014. Yahya, who was only submitted once in MMA, back in 2006, last competed in the UFC in August, tapping Enrique Briones with a kimura.
