The promotion’s #7 ranked lightweight, Dan Hooker, just took a split decision in a technical war with the #6 ranked, Paul Felder, in the UFC Auckland main event. This fight was extremely close. Hooker started strong by attacking the legs of Felder and using his footwork to stay at range. He stuck to the script across the first few rounds, but Felder started to get himself back in the game. Felder began kicking the legs and started to let his hands go more and more as the fight went on. Hooker was the one who began to switch levels and look for takedowns, although Felder did a great job of staying vertical.
