The Ultimate Fighting Championship is looking get a piece of the promotional aspect of Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor.
The Las Vegas-based promotion has applied with the Nevada Athletic Commission to co-promote the boxing match between Mayweather and McGregor, according to the NAC’s upcoming agenda. The commission will vote on the matter during its Aug. 16 meeting.
According to a report from MMAFighting.com, the UFC would not need a separate license to promote boxing in Nevada but it would have to become a co-promoter in order to pay McGregor, its reigning lightweight champion, for the fight.
