Philipe Lins and Don’Tale Mayes will battle for their first UFC victory when they meet at a Fight Night event in Las Vegas on Nov. 7, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting.
Mayes (7-4), a three-time Contender Series hopeful, went 0-2 under the UFC banner after a pair of submission defeats to Ciryl Gane and Rodrigo Nascimento. “Kong” needed two victories on Dana White’s show to secure a contract with the promotion, stopping Mitchell Sipe and Ricardo Prasel.
Lins (14-5) signed with the UFC after becoming the PFL heavyweight champion in 2018, but lost back to back fights to Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser in 2020.
