The UFC will close out its 2021 pay-per-view calendar with a championship doubleheader on Saturday, with Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira serving as the marquee fight for the lightweight title.
The Diamond has been one of the top challengers in the division for some time. He came up short in his bid to take the title from Khabib Nurmagomedov and then had two fights with Conor McGregor, while Oliveira was busy claiming the title left behind by The Eagle when he retired.
Now the two will have a chance to add further legitimacy to the title in the wake of that retirement that stunned the division.
