Brian Ortega left the Octagon on Saturday night looking worse for wear following his epic five-round war with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 266. The No. 2 ranked featherweight contender nearly dethroned the champion with a tight guillotine in the third round of their fight, but did not get it and was ultimately defeated by way of unanimous decision.
Ortega suffered a serious injury — a right orbital blowout fracture — that could leave him on the sidelines until next year after receiving a potential six-month suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) on Tuesday.
