Christos Giagos was in trouble on several occasions in the UFC 262 opener, taking heavy punches from a returning Sean Soriano at Toyota Center. But a brief opening provided a submission opportunity, and after the squeeze of a D’Arce choke, he secured the win in a 160-pound catchweight bout.
Giagos was declared the winner at 3:59 of the second round after the referee tested Soriano’s arm and found no resistance. When Giagos let the choke go, Soriano’s head bounced on the canvas.

Afterward, Giagos called out Donald Cerrone for his next bout after taking Saturday’s fight on short notice.
