There is no such thing as a definitive lock in MMA, but if there was a fight at UFC 259 that was close to a guaranteed win, it was the co-main event, where Amanda Nunes put her women’s featherweight title against Megan Anderson.
Nunes won the fight with ease. The champion hurt Anderson with her striking early and once the fight went to the ground, it was just a matter of counting the seconds until the end came. That end seemed almost merciful. Nunes could have used her ground strikes to put damage on Anderson, instead, Nunes went for a submission and forced the tap from Anderson at 2:03 of the first stanza.
