The UFC train never stops rolling along. Today it was announced that UFC 255 will feature a pair of flyweight championship matches. Deiveson Figueiredo (19-1) will defend his newly won championship in a clash with former bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt (12-3).
Deiveson Figueiredo knocked out Joe Benavidez in spectacular fashion last month becoming the flyweight champion. The belt was vacated when Henry Cejudo opted to retire after defeating Dominick Cruz back in May.
It seems a bit odd that Garbrandt will be receiving the next title shot, being that he’s never competed at flyweight before and is 1-3 in his last four outings.
