It looks like Tony Ferguson will be out of action for the foreseeable future, as The Florida State Boxing Commission has suspended the former interim lightweight champion for a minimum of 60 days following his fifth-round TKO loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 this past Saturday.
Gaethje, however, has been medically cleared and is eligible to return to the Octagon as soon as possible. ‘The Highlight’ battered Ferguson from pillar-to-post in the UFC 249 main event and became the first man to stop ‘El Cucuy’ with strikes.
UFC 249 co-headliners Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz both received minimum 45 day suspensions but ‘Triple C’ is retired.
