UFC 242 results: Curtis Blaydes smashes Shamil Abdurakhimov with second round TKO

Curtis Blaydes wasn’t keeping his game plan a secret at UFC 242 and Shamil Abdurakhimov could do nothing to stop him.

The top five ranked heavyweight used a dominant wrestling pedigree to put Abdurakhimov down on the mat numerous times before bludgeoning him with elbows leading to referee Marc Goddard stopping the fight at 2:22 into the second round.

“I knew I was the better wrestler. I knew I was better conditioned. I could have done that for five rounds,” Blaydes said after earning his second win in a row.

Blaydes wasted no time putting Abdurakhimov down on the mat as the former college wrestler was more than happy to engage in a grappling battle.
