It wasn’t pretty but Krzysztof Jotko got the job done on Saturday night in Edmonton.
The veteran middleweight was able to eke past Marc-Andre Barriault by split decision after a grueling three round battle that started the UFC 240 main card. Two judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Jotko with the third judge going for Barriault with the same 29-28 scorecard.
It was a battle of positions throughout the fight with Barriault constantly stepping forward but struggling to deal with Jotko’s volume and accuracy. With Jotko landing more than 50-percent of his strikes, it forced Barriault to make adjustments including a takedown late in the opening round.
