The UFC travels to Atlanta, Georgia for possibly one of the biggest cards of the year, UFC 236. In the main event, a new interim lightweight champion will be crowned. The current UFC featherweight champion, Max Holloway, will be moving up a weight class to face Dustin Poirier for the interim title. Holloway and Poirier have fought once before, as Holloway made his UFC debut against Poirier at UFC 143 in 2012. Poirier defeated Holloway that night, submitting him in the first round with a mounter triangle armbar.
