UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway and Kelvin Gastelum led a field of five fighters to be issued potentially lengthy medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC 236.
The Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission released the event’s finalized medical suspension report to MMA Fighting on Monday.
Holloway and Gastelum both suffered grueling decision losses in UFC 236’s interim championship fights at the hands of Dustin Poirier and Israel Adesanya, respectively. As a result of potential damage sustained in their contests, both Holloway and Gastelum will be forced to seek medical clearance via CT scans before being allowed to return to active competition, per Georgia commission officials, or be suspended indefinitely.
