At age 43, Anderson Silva isn’t the same fighter he was when he held the UFC middleweight title for nearly seven years.
But he’s still got more than enough left in the tank to put on an entertaining main event bout, and to give the fighter touted as the next version of him plenty to think about on his way to the top.
Silva’s fight with Israel Adesanya on Saturday night at UFC 234 was bumped up to the main event earlier in the day when the originally scheduled bout between middleweight champ Robert Whittaker and challenger Kelvin Gastelum was canceled when the champion suffered a hernia.
