Brian Ortega absorbed a UFC record 290 significant strikes in his loss to Max Holloway on Saturday night, so it only makes sense that “T-City” could be looking at some time on the sidelines.
According to medical suspensions released by The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Ortega will be out 180 days pending doctor clearance. While the exact nature of Ortega’s injuries were not announced, Ortega recently revealed in a social media post that he suffered a broken nose and broken thumb in the UFC 231 headliner.
UFC 231 took place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and saw Holloway retain his featherweight crown with a fourth-round doctor stoppage of Ortega in the evening’s main event.
