Brandon Davis was a plucky underdog on Saturday night, a former Contender Series competitor who found himself fighting a monster in Dagestan’s Zabit Magomedsharipov.
But the talent difference was simply too much to overcome. After a cautious opening round, Magomedsharipov poured it on in the second round before scoring a kneebar from the back mount and getting the tap. The time of the finish in the featherweight main card bout at UFC 228 in Dallas was 3:46.
The opening round was a methodically paced affair, as Magomedsharipov picked his spots and David landed just often enough to keep hi Of course I was frustrated and i was afraid they would not come up with an opponent but I say thank you to the UFC for finding an opponent and thanks to Brandon Davis for taking the fight.
