UFC 228 was a violent show. While there were only five KO/TKO finishes out of 13 fights, there were also a couple of brutal submissions, and a war of attrition that took place on the Fight Pass card, which added to the number of fighters medically suspended by the Texas commission following the card.
Four fighters were handed indefinite suspensions - Cody Stamann, who had his knee shredded by Aljamain Sterling; Frank Camacho, who was knocked clean out with a brutal head kick; Irene Aldana, who was in involved in said war of attrition and broke her hand; and Roberto Sanchez, who actually made it to the final horn but dropped a split decision to Jarred Brooks.
